76ers

Game 7 didn't turn out like Sixers fans hoped. Too many turnovers, poor shot selection, etc. But, those are signs of a young team.

In the spirit of all great sports fans, we wish the Boston Celtics the best from here on out.

This Philly squad played good defense and never gave up. With whatever roster changes are coming, the new ownership group has their heart in the right place and that gives me great confidence that better days should be ahead.

At the beginning of the season, I had predicted a run for the Sixers that would last at least two playoff rounds. I offered that comment based upon Doug Collins strong leadership and the spirit within his team.

To fall one game short of that predicted goal leaves me satisfied on a purely gut-level. On an infinitely more important plane, is how happy I am to see the great game of basketball moving to its rightful spot in the city of Philadelphia. That spot is directly within the consciousness of the other three professional sports teams and their fans.

Onto next season. Go Sixers!!!

Baseball cards

For those of us who are old enough to remember When Baseball Cards were King, the spring is always a special time of year.

Bygone days spent with elementary school days and family members opening packs of Topps cardboard gold never truly fade away.

Hockey

Here is a hockey story that all ice fans will like: The mystery behind these 1970s Topps hockey cards is revealed.
