Phillies' Trades and Free Agent Acquisitions + Philadelphia Eagles' Game

My new eBook: Readers Who Have No Time for Words is now available on Amazon.com. These stories were specifically written for people who like to read, but don't have much time to do actually do so. Humor, horror, mystery, adventure, travel, sports and a few selected stories are all wrapped inside this mini-tome. Thank you for considering this download.

Headline Topic: Other Phillies' Moves + Eagles

1. I like the addition of Ben Revere, because he is a double-plus defender and has speed. The team's lineup needs more people like him in it.

I like the addition of Michael Young, because he should have enough left in the tank to generate offense this season. His defense won't be great, but more like Kevin Frandsen's efforts at the end of last season verses Ty Wigginton.

I don't know if Amaro will add a big-name outfielder, or simply supplement what he has with another veteran who can take the pressure off Ruf and Brown (if he stays).

He also needs to add a veteran middle-innings reliever.

The Phillies could give 22-year-old Jonathan Pettibone a chance to be their fifth starter in 2013. This right-hander posted some encouraging numbers during the past few years in the minor leagues. Plus, there are always a variety of low-cost veteran arms that can handle the number 5 spot in the rotation if Pettibone isn't ready.

2. The Eagles play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today. Beyond that sentence, what else is there to say about this disappointing season at this point?

Recent Headline Topic: MMA Phenomena

I encourage fans of any sport to attend one of these events when you can. The excitement of the crowd and the efforts of the fighters will likely win you over to this superb athletic adventure.

Here is my most recent feature article about a live XFE Cage Wars event that I attended.
