John Fitzgerald Kennedy: His Life

May 29, 1917 (Brookline, MA) - November 22, 1963 (Dallas, TX)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I look forward to becoming friends on Facebook
Let's connect on LinkedIn and on Twitter @SeanyOB.
(Feel free to be in touch if you feel that I can help you, your family or friends.)

Links to my new illustrated children's book ...

Use this link --->>Maddie: Teaching Tolerance with a Smile to see a free preview of the Amazon eBook edition.

50% of all proceeds from the sale of our book (in both print and eBook forms) are being donated to the Children's Alopecia Project (CAP).

Feel free to use, or share, this link--->>Maddie: Teaching Tolerance with a Smile to purchase the printed book directly from CAP.

Here's a link to this great (print and online) article that the Reading Eagle recently published about our story Maddie: Teaching Tolerance with a Smile: Book chronicles Wyomissing teen's journey since being diagnosed with alopecia

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you to Stacey Stauffer (Fox 29 Philadelphia). She interviewed Madison Woytovich, her parents (Jeff and Betsy Woytovich) and me about the latest chapter in this inspiring story. Here's a video link to Stacey's wonderful feature.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A recent post ...

Interest surged in my Twitter account just a few hours after I had written a feature about Michael Muhney of CBS' 'The Young and The Restless'.

More than just a talented, hard-working thespian, Muhney is also a family man who chooses to be involved in important charity work. One of those causes is: The LA Cancer Challenge, which benefits pancreatic cancer research. Click on that link when you get a chance. It's worthwhile.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every social media connection has helped my online features to generate millions (yes, millions) of internet hits since Labor Day weekend 2010. I remain deeply grateful to everyone for the attention that's been given to these sports, news and interview articles. I never expected this embrace, but am genuinely humbled by it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amazon.com is the number 1 online publishing platform in the world. That's why I used it to publish my first ebook:

This mini-tome is a collection of stories and poems for readers who don't take themselves too seriously. I hope that you enjoy it and am always interested in your feedback.

Boston Marathon Bombings: The Terrorists Want Us To Fight Each Other

(Photo courtesy of ESPN, via the Richard family)

The photo shown above is Martin Richard. He was eight-years-old when he was killed by terrorists in Massachusetts on April 15, 2013 at the Boston Marathon.

The bombings, like so many other terrorist acts create rightful emotional reactions. As a human being, I have no problem with that. However, I have had and do have a problem with the manner in which people begin to attack each other after these incidents happen.

DO PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT'S PART OF EVERY TERRORIST'S INTENT? They want to tear whatever society they attack apart by pitting people against each other.

Most, if not all, of us have heard others use tragedy as a weapon to loudly shoot their mouths off about various elected officials (from both parties) after 9/11 and after other tragic events. Those 'personality types' also have no problem attacking anyone who they disagree with either.

I believe that those individuals aren't that far removed, if they are removed at all, from the same type of warped view of reality that the terrorists see.

Let me be clear: Terrorists have no solutions. They only want to destroy what currently exists. That's not a productive political message.

Every person who has ever opened his, or her, mouth about any of our Presidents (including the last one, or the current one) and actually believes that either of those people represent what's wrong with the United States is misguided.

People of goodwill understand that the majority of humanity wants what's best for everyone else. Don't allow anyone to use tragedy to push their own agendas. (And no, that's not what I'm doing in this case.)

My message goes out to the terrorists who commit these violent acts and to those members of the public who knowingly serve as willing pawns in their death games.

Post from 4/15/13
Life in the United States has never been ideal. Romanticizing the past removes the realities of death that surrounded the courageous fight to gain Independence and everything that has happened since.

Every person who has ever shrugged off the removal of established rules within society and common sense practices has been and will always enable problems.

When people live in a fantasy world they choose to believe that there will be no consequences, or are 'surprised' when any tragic event occurs - like the Boston Marathon Bombing.

Always ignore everyone who argues that rules don't matter, that all life isn't sacred and that there is no right and wrong.

And no, I'm not in favor of the death penalty. Instead, I believe that life in prison without parole is the better punishment for all violent crimes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I intentionally used Amazon.com to publish my first ebook:
Fast Fiction and Other StuffThat platform is the number 1 eBook publishing site in the world. That decision has since proven to be worthwhile in many ways.

Writing and properly editing a book is hard work. Formatting it to fit the digital screen is hardly a creative endeavor. Promoting a book in many forms takes persistence and skill.

I'm proud of my tome and of the response it has earned to-date. I encourage anyone who has the ability to write and to publish their own work to do so.

There have been, are and will always be many great stories to tell in our world. Make yours one of them.

Philadelphia Phillies: Roy Halladay Looked Good Today

(Photo courtesy of SD Dirk - Wikimedia Commons)

I have been very concerned about Roy Halladay since last season. Seeing him throw so well today in Miami was great. Plus, he earned his 200th career win.

'Doc' is someone who gives his all, all the time. He clearly has been  having difficulty performing his physical job as a middle-aged person. That's something every human being who is fortunate to live into his, or her 30s can relate to.

Continued success is wished to one of the great pitchers of this era. As long as he's able to harness his existing talent he should be able to pitch effectively this season and possibly beyond.
