Former Flyer Jeff Carter traded again

Hockey trade

Carter's deal to the Los Angeles Kings somewhat evokes memories of the Miami Heat "We want to be together" arrangement. While that involved free agents colluding to play together, this deal played off Carter and Richards on- and off-ice chemistry.

This reunion could be fascinating for a variety of reasons.

Okay, so the headline to this post was intentionally melodramatic. You get the point.

Here's this team full of young, mostly unknown players (and Elton Brand) getting ready to face the Miami Heat.

You know them: LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, etc.

Both teams lead their respective divisions with the same 16-6 record.

Doug Collins has gotten his team where they are through good coaching.

Erik Spoelstra's team got where it is mostly because of $, which is the root of all evil...thus the title for today's post.

With whoever wins tonight's matchup, it's great to see proof that there still is more than one path to success in life.
