Philadelphia Phillies' Free Agent Rumors

Headline Topic: Phillies

Ichiro rumor about him being signed and then made the center fielder. I think that option is intriguing.

Kevin Youkilis rumors being heard again. I also like that and wouldn't mind seeing him platoon at 3B. If not him, the Phillies still must have some veteran supplement Frandsen and Galvis next season.

Recent Headline Topic: MMA Phenomena

I encourage fans of any sport to attend one of these events when you can. The excitement of the crowd and the efforts of the fighters will likely win you over to this superb athletic adventure.

Here is my most recent feature article about a live XFE Cage Wars event that I attended.

Headline Topic: Eagles - Cowboys Game

Another defeat, to the Dallas Cowboys no less, continues this season's misery. The season can't possibly end soon enough.

A fresh start for this entire organization grows closer by the week. I don't know where many major changes will lead to, but they are coming.

Andy Reid has been a very good coach. We can not say that he's been a great coach, because he didn't get that Super Bowl win. For me that is the dividing line between good and great. Responses to the contrary only come through use of emotional logic.

Philadelphia Phillies' Trades, Free Agents

Headline Topic: Phillies

B.J. Upton, Span and Pagan are off the center field market. But, plenty of good options remain for the Phillies' 2013 outfield.

Let's assume Ruf is in some type of platoon in LF and Brown is in some type of Rf platoon. That means the Phillies only need to add one starting outfielder (a center fielder) to their mix.

This man could be obtained through free agency, or trade.

The newest names that have been receiving more play are Ichiro Suzuki and Dexter Fowler (currently with the Colorado Rockies).

Don't fret, Amaro has something up his sleeve.

Eagles-Cowboys in Christmas Eve 'Classic'

Most importantly: Merry Christmas to everyone who helped me to hit the one million reader mark since my first Yahoo Sports story was published on 2/1/11. We are all amazed at the power of the internet.

Eagles

The matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Texas doesn't have the panache that numerous games have in the past. But, it could still be meaningful.

Andy Reid, Juan Castillo and the rest of the staff have Birds working as best they can on the Christmas Eve day battle.

Michael Vick's absence clearly led to the team not posting as many wins as they thought they might this season. Surely there were many other factors that caused their winning percentage to drink slim fast this season as well.

Until, or if, they are officially eliminated the green will still be seen.

The Eagles face J.R. Ewing + Flyers resiliency

TY to over ---1,000,000 people---who have read my Yahoo Sports, News and Voices articles since 2/1/11. http://contributor.yahoo.com/user/977720/sean_obrien.html

Eagles

Whenever the Eagles head to Dallas thoughts of the old TV show of the same same come to mind.

Will the Eagles playoff hopes still be alive this weekend? If so, can they beat the Jerry Jones/J.R. Ewing Cowboys to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Tune in this weekend and find out!

Flyers

Proof that this team is ever-resilient came when they beat the Dallas Stars last night.

On four occassions this season they have gone winless in consecutive games. But, they have never gone winless in three or more games, making them one of only three NHL teams to do so.

Consistency in the regular season builds points. In the playoffs that type of effort builds series victories.

Will they be healthy enough next spring to maintain their current pace?
