5 Traits of Hardcore Philadelphia Phillies' Fans

Over the next week, or so, I'm going to provide inside information about each of the 'personal favorite' story links that are shown below.

5 Traits of Hardcore Philadelphia Phillies' Fans

Every longtime baseball fan considers himself/herself to be hardcore. In Philadelphia there are particular elements within the culture that helps to define who we are.

I loved writing this one because the exaggerations weren't so far from reality. Those of us who saw the 1980 and 2008 World Series' victories are deeply fortunate and owe an eternal debt of gratitude to every fan who ever lived and never saw either great team.

Television Haiku Poem

Over the next week, or so, I'm going to provide inside information about each of the 'personal favorite' story links that are shown below.

Television Haiku Poem

Television is fully woven into the American culture and into many parts of the worldwide consciousness. Anyone who believes that the internet will break this thread must be unaware that radio was projected for the ash can many decades ago.

The advent of holographic images will cause a new dimension in television to move beyond the final line of this Haiku.

Horror Story: It Was Crawling Up My Chest!

Over the next week, or so, I'm going to provide inside information about each of the 'personal favorite' story links that are shown below.

Horror Story: It Was Crawling Up My Chest!
This story is based in fact. It happened to me during the summer of 1990. While the job element within the story was time shifted to further the plot, the remaining information happened exactly as stated. Humor mixes with the horror element to create one of my most satisfying real life-to-story transitions ever.

Mother's Day

Simply put: I've been blessed to have a great mom for my entire life. Who knows what my life (and many others) would have been like without her.

Words often flow. But on days like this one, actions and emotions speak the loudest.

Thank you and God bless you MOM. My best also goes out to all great mothers everywhere!

In Memoriam: 'Katherine the Great' - Jeanne Cooper - CBS - Young and the Restless

All hail Katherine the Great!

Not only because of the strong response to yesterday's post, but also because of the greatness of this actor - the following information is being re-posted today. (An iconic black and white photograph was added today, courtesy of CBS. It shows Cooper in her prime.)

Jeanne Cooper became one of daytime television's greatest stars through her portrayal of 'Katherine Chancellor' on the iconic CBS' soap opera "The Young and the Restless", which remains one of my television favorites for very fond personal reasons.

She first appeared on the show six months into it's initial season in 1973 and remained as a main cast member through this year (2013).

Cooper's acting range was undeniable and her passing today marks the true end of an era.
