Phillies

Seeing Joe Savery make the team was great. From pitching prospect, to positional player, and back to being a pitcher again. Unbelievable perseverance. Way to go Joe!

Pete Orr hasn't demonstrated much thus far in his Phillies tenure. To see him make the team as a bench guy is somewhat troubling. Then again, he might do well. Baseball is more than a funny game. It's outright unpredictable.

Number 58 on the roster is none other than Cinco Ocho himself, Jonathan Papelbon. He has been a top flight closer in his career. Now pitching in his prime, Charlie Manuel needs him to be...uh...lights out. Sorry Brad.

Baseball cards

For those of us who are old enough to remember when baseball cards were king
When Baseball Cards were King this week is always a special time of year.

The opening of any new season was always previewed by Topps newest edition of cards. Bygone days spent with elementary school days and family members opening packs of cardboard gold never truly fade away.
