Philadelphia Phillies: Charlie Manuel's Greatest Baseball Days

I dedicate today's post to Charlie Manuel

Like all decent baseball fans, I wish him the best in his future endeavors, whether they be with the Phillies, or whoever.

He is the greatest manager in franchise history in my opinion.

Here's a link to a story I wrote about Manuel that still reflects my view of this great baseball man.

Thank you to Stacey Stauffer (Fox 29 Philadelphia). She interviewed Maddie Woytovich, her parents (Jeff and Betsy Woytovich) and me recently about the latest chapter in this inspiring story. The feature will be aired during the 10 p.m. broadcast on July 30 (which is the date of today's post).

A variety of individuals, who are mentioned within this book's pages, deserve credit for helping to make it become a reality.

My cousin, Patrick O'Brien, was the initial artist who established the visual reality that became Maddie: Teaching Tolerance with a Smile. Without his generous contributions, ongoing advice and support, this book may well have never been born.

This illustrated book is about the life of Madison Woytovich and the organization CAP (Children's Alopecia Projectthat her family founded a number of years ago.

I'll continue posting updates here on my blog so that all readers can stay up-to-date on what is shaping up to be a buzz-worthy release.

I'm donating 50% of all proceeds from the book to CAP. Visit crowdit.com to learn more about the efforts that allowed this idea to be born.

Maddie: Teaching Tolerance with a Smile - The release date has almost arrived...

Great Reads and Great Charitable Causes Go Together

Maddie: Teaching Tolerance with a Smile is an illustrated children's book that I wrote about the life of Madison Woytovich and the organization (CAP - Children's Alopecia Projectthat her family founded.

This project took time to develop, but has been worth every moment because the message within this book has and will continue to change lives around the world.

All writers who are privileged to document positive real-life stories understand that we are simply a verbal vessel. My words are fully based in reality.

I'll continue posting updates here on my blog so that all readers can stay up-to-date on what will be a buzz-worthy release.

50% of all proceeds from the book are being donated to CAP. Visit crowdit.com to learn more about the efforts that allowed this idea to be born.

Writers and Readers Know Why Some Books Must Be Published

My book, Maddie: Teaching Tolerance with a Smile will be released very soon. It's a true story about Madison Woytovich, whose ever-resilient attitude is helping to change the world person-by-person.

Along with the Children's Alopecia Project and illustrator Melissa Lascala, I created a book that details Maddie's life and the role that her wonderful family and friends have played in it.

Those of us who created it already know that it's timeless message will be embraced by the public.

This book is nearly ready to be released to the public. Strong pre-release requests haven't been surprising and we thank everyone for them.
