Despite all of the rumors, it's difficult to say who will be traded, what will be received in return and when all of this will happen.

The Phillies took 2-3 from the Rockies. Much more than that needs to happen to stave off major moves in the very near future. Possibly, as soon as this week.

Last night's defeat to the Colorado Rockies brought the seemingly inevitable trades that will change this team just one day closer to becoming reality.

Unless the Phillies bite off almost every win on July's schedule, they will have to make moves in preparation for the future.

If the Phillies don't win most of their remaining games in July, major trades will be made.
From that point on, there is no way to truly know what the future holds for this team.

Philadelphia moved into a positive era when Larry Bowa arrived over 10 years ago. Who knows what these next 10 years will be like. The choices that are made starting this month and into next season should have a lasting impact for years to come.

Many baseball trades could likely happen this month and next, as the Phillies have fallen out of realistic playoff contention.

Shane Victorino may be the first to go. It's rumored that the Dodgers like him.

Cole Hamels stated that he's open to remaining a Phillie this weekend. Let's hope the team doesn't allow him to become a free agent.

Game 7. For all who believed, keep believing.

As to whether Doug Collins' guys can knock off the Celtics...who knows. But, what a story it will be if they can actually do it tonight.


Phillies

So, Cliff Lee and Shane Victorino got into in the dugout last night. While they didn't come to blows, their mutual moxie revealed a turbulent undercurrent that exists in this year's team.

Lee signed a long-term deal expecting to have a shot at multiple World Series titles. Victorino is in the last year of his deal and might not last the season, depending upon how the schedule plays out.

Both men still have the on-field fight in them and that's what matters most.

If Polanco is fully healthy his presence will be valuable once again this season.

Keep an eye on Victorino's numbers in the leadoff spot, as compared to any other lineup slot that he is placed into.

Hamels has previously lost his mental focus in past seasons. He needs to pitch with a winning record in order to not allow the pressure of his contractual walk-year build.

The Phillies contract 'situations' with Cole Hamels and Shane Victorino could dominate this coming season.

Now that Victorino has stated his desire for a five-year deal, the dynamics of these matters may change in some unforeseeable way.

Flyers

The Flyers have been struggling to regain consistency since Christmas.

It will be challenging for them to steady their ship moving forward due to the number of new players, rookies and hurting veterans.

Phillies - Victorino and Rollins press conferences & Fan Gratitude

Phillies -

Shane Victorino, Jimmy Rollins and Ruben Amaro held individual press conferences today.

These type of press conferences were hardly the type of activity that was expected from this team at this time of the year.

The uncertainty of every season has been pounded home by the last week.

However!!!!   Do you remember the days when we were a sub .500 team? Do you remember when we never made the playoffs?

Get real.

This is one of, if not, the best eras in team history.

So, we lost in the first round of the playoffs. Do you expect to win every series, every year?

That is what being a contender means. You won't always make it, but are in the game.

It seems like some fans are so conditioned to knee-jerk reactions to losing that they mentally defaulted to that exact position now.

I totally understand the feeling and have to remind myself of these facts.
