Preakness Stakes' Victory Stops Triple Crown Bid

Congratulations to Hall of Fame Jockey Gary Stevens and Hall of Famer trainer D. Wayne Lukas for taking a long shot and winning the Preakness Stakes. His victory aboard Oxbow stopped Triple Crown hopes for Orb. But, it could set up a nice battle at the Belmont Stakes on June 8 if both horses are entered in that third leg.

Stevens' win was quite a feat, as he rode the fifth longest shot (15-1) within the past century to victory in the 138th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course.

Horse racing has long been one of my favorite live sporting events because of the excitement that surrounds great days like this one.

5 Traits of Hardcore Philadelphia Phillies' Fans

Every longtime baseball fan considers himself/herself to be hardcore. In Philadelphia there are particular elements within the culture that helps to define who we are.

I loved writing this one because the exaggerations weren't so far from reality. Those of us who saw the 1980 and 2008 World Series' victories are deeply fortunate and owe an eternal debt of gratitude to every fan who ever lived and never saw either great team.
