Flyers

The Flyers had the Penguins number once again last night. Can they continue to make that come-from-behind call again and again? That seems unlikely.

If Philadelphia can actually take the lead and go on to win Game 2 on Friday night, that will indicate that the Flyers momentum might be too difficult for the Penguins talent to overcome.

The playoffs are a strange animal, so this is all just pure speculation.

Phillies

"It seemed like yesterday once more..." remember that old tune? It played last night at Citizens Bank Park.

Who knows what this offense will do this season. That uncertainty seems unlikely to straighten itself any time soon.

Flyers

Winning the game tonight against the Penguins would help matters significantly, as Bryzgalov would have likely gotten to a good start.

Pittsburgh is a very solid team and this playoff war should prove to be well worth the seasonal wait.
Phillies

This season will be very intriguing. However, on a pure excitement level, watching any team struggle for hits is no picnic.

Amaro might be compelled to make roster adjustments if enough runs aren't being generated within the next few weeks.

If Polanco is fully healthy his presence will be valuable once again this season.

Keep an eye on Victorino's numbers in the leadoff spot, as compared to any other lineup slot that he is placed into.

Hamels has previously lost his mental focus in past seasons. He needs to pitch with a winning record in order to not allow the pressure of his contractual walk-year build.

How many lineups will Charlie Manuel need to use before the players generate enough offense for him to settle on a few that work the best?

Will Cole Hamels be able to maintain his focus and stay healthy during the walk year of his contract?

Filling The Philadelphia Phillies 2012 Easter Basket

One way to fill this team's Easter basket would be by adding not one, but two, power threats to the lineup. It's possible that a current player may emerge to help Hunter Pence in this regard. But, an in-season trade might become necessary at some point if this doesn't happen.

The starting pitching basket is already filled, so there is no need to worry about that.

The bullpen has a closer with a strong career resume. So, all we need to do is hope that his supporting rabbits are ready to run during those middle innings.

After an eternity of spring training games, is it really necessary to have a day off after only playing one game in the season?  Minor annoyance, I know, but still. :-)
