76ers Game 7. For all who believed, keep believing.

As to whether Doug Collins' guys can knock off the Celtics...who knows. But, what a story that would be if they do.

Phillies

How about that 'Chooch' in the cleanup spot. Who would have 'thunk' it all those years ago.

Well, Carlos Ruiz believes in himself and that's how everything great happens. One person using their talent and free will to succeed.

No matter where this season takes Ruiz, he is as much a part of this great era as anyone.

Baseball cards

For those of us who are old enough to remember When Baseball Cards were King, the spring is always a special time of year.

Bygone days spent with elementary school days and family members opening packs of Topps cardboard gold never truly fade away.

76ers

How great a victory tonight would be. Can it happen? Well, this team has surprised us before.

Best of luck to Doug Collins and the guys, no matter what happens.

Phillies
A team that is adrift for sure. After winning six straight, they lose four in a row.

Keep an eye on how they continue to do against these plus-.500 teams. Ruben Amaro, Jr. will, that's for sure.

Philadelphia 76ers Classic Blog Post - Now Playoff Enhanced

AS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED ON 2/1/12.....Before they beat the Bulls in the first playoff round and before the current Celtics postseason matchup.

76ers

There were those who said the Doug Collins-led Sixers team was good. But, when they faced the better teams, they would fall.

That seemed logical. But, it was also a reliance on who the team had been in the past. It did not represent a view of who the group might become, or who they are right now.

Their win over the Eastern Conference leading Chicago Bulls was no fluke. This is a sound defensive team, with spirit. Their coach is a one of the best in the League. Period.

If all of their key people remain fully healthy in this shortened season, this young team will win more than 40 games and could win at least two playoff rounds.

That old 76ers theme song is playing louder and louder and louder and louder as every week passes.

One, two, three, four, five...."Clap your hands everybody for the Philadelphia 76ers..."

Preakness Stakes

Here is a direct link to my Yahoo feature article on the race.

Some late intrigue, as Kent Desormeaux's failed alcohol test gives Ramon Dominguez (the 2010 and 2011 Eclipse Award winner as North America's top jockey) the chance to ride Tiger Walk (30-1).

Here is a direct link to the Pimlico site for the latest odds on all the horses and other race information.
