Headline Topics: Phillies
1. Not tendering an offer to Nate Schierholtz might not seem like a big move and it really isn't. However, the removal of that player from the 2013 picture (unless he's re-signed as a free agent) continues the opening of payroll space.
2. I expect Amaro to make some type of splash this month. Possibly that will begin to happen at the Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tenn. next week. It might not be in the form of a big-name signing, but he will add a variety of players to his team before the New Year begins. He knows that he has to be aggressive and not bottom-feed for talent in order to legitimately re-position his team for another playoff push.
