Baseball  -

If you ever have the chance to read Baseball in the Garden of Eden - The Secret History of the Early Game, please do so. Here is a link to the website.

All fans of the game we know as Base Ball (Baseball) will have their eyes opened by the facts that author John Thorn has researched and presented.

Not a revisionist history of recent days, or even olden days. This book proposes that a game called "Rounders", played in England was the basis for baseball. It openly states that Abner Doubleday did not invent the game, but was presented as its father as a form of fairy tale for domestic audiences.

There are fascinating photos that show professional integration actually happened in the 1800s, rather then the mid-1900s as has always been taught.

Albert Spalding, the ballplayer who became a famous sporting goods dealer, is cited as the man who also created the legend of baseball's history in the United States.

World Series -

No matter what anyone thinks, Tony LaRussa is to be credited with creating the wave that his Cardinals are riding to the World Series.

It's not just that his players are playing well at the right time, as he watches from the dugout. He is working the roster and creating his own reality show that will soon begin its next season against the Texas Rangers.
