Phillies' "Moneyball" & Flyers' suspension

TY to over ---725,000 readers---of my Yahoo Sports, interview and news articles since 2/1/11.http://contributor.yahoo.com/user/977720/sean_obrien.html

Phillies -

The Phillies continued their slump when they were swept at home by the Washington Nationals yesterday.

They still have time to right the ship before entering the playoffs on October 1.

While some other teams have entered the playoffs cold, it seems to be common sense to conclude that is not a preferred course of action.

Flyers -

Meanwhile, off in Flyerville... The suspension to Jody Shelley was totally justified.

The NHL hired former player Brendan Shanahan to clean up the League's reckless culture. Here's hoping that he is allowed to continue to do that all season long.

When I interviewed Kerry Fraser earlier this year, he shared his insights from the ice about eliminating head shots from the game. His work on that behalf is commendable.
